# Sources and fact check

Where every gameplay fact in the guide comes from, and how sure we are of it.
Not part of the website.

- **Last full check:** 22 October 2026, against Blizzard's beta development notes
  "Updated October 15" (last entry posted 16 Oct 2026, build 1.60.1) plus Forever guides
  and databases. No Blizzard Forever notes dated 20 October were found.
- **Beta cap was level 30.** Anything above 30 (talent builds, gear, riding, zones) is
  planned or datamined, not tested.
- **Re-check after launch (4 Nov 2026):** see the list at the end.

## Sync of 2 Nov 2026

First run of the `forever-sync` skill (see `research/sync-log.md`). Applied: Blizzard's
racial pass of 26-27 Oct (B1) in both faction files and the class tips that mention
racials; launch info (B13 to B19): rulesets in Basics, the Together tab and the
checklist, the Experience Preset, the Riverglades quest count, the gold-transfer rule,
raid details (B20) in zone notes; the 28-30 Oct class hotfixes (WH2, WH3, FC), applied
with labels, with warnings on the Druid and Paladin builds until guides publish new
ones; four dungeon entrances from WTD on the map. The header badge now reads "Checked
against Blizzard notes of 26 Oct and hotfixes to 30 Oct 2026".

## Class and faction research (22 Oct 2026)

When the guide became multi-class, each class and faction file was researched
separately. Each one lists its own sources in the file's `sources` field, and its
conflicts and open questions in a research note:

## Status labels

| Label | Meaning |

| PARTLY | Mostly right, but a detail is wrong, outdated or overstated. |
| CONTRADICTED | A Forever source says something different. Needs a fix. |

| UNCONFIRMED | No Forever source found either way. |

### Map tab and zones.json

Map images and positions (2 Nov 2026): the map shows Blizzard's in-game maps (MAPS).
Zone label points, cities, flight masters, classic dungeon entrances and boat and
zeppelin routes come from WCF's map data (build 1.60.1), projected from world
coordinates onto the images. Dalaran was read off the Forever Alterac Mountains map and
Alcaz Prison off the Alcaz Island label on the Dustwallow Marsh map. New dungeons with
no entrance in WCF's data (Hall of Thanes, Excavation Site, The Drowned City, Krol'dok
Stronghold, Blackmaw Hold, Shaper's Terrace) and the Hyjal raids have no marker; the
zone details list them. Ruins of Lordaeron is marked at the ruins above Undercity.
Zone level ranges, factions, notes and pet spots are unchanged from the checks below.

Confirmed: all new dungeons and locations (B7), Riverglades location and Krol'dok (B7, B8),
